What you see is what you get...

We were asked something strange this week; a customer enquired whether or not the showroom pieces were identical to the furniture they would receive if they were to order something from us.

On further investigation it transpired he had been let down in the past when his new sofa arrived; whilst it looked the same, it was in fact very different from the one he and his wife had tried in the showroom where they bought it.  The overall feel and comfort of his sofa was different and even the scale of the furniture was not as he remembered in the store.

When he raised the issue with the store they explained that the display furniture was made by a different manufacturer - apparently this is more common practice than you may think.

At John Dick & Son you get what you see - we only deal with the best manufacturers and all of our display furniture comes from them so you can rest assured you will receive exactly what you order.

In this video Bruce Dick, Managing Director at John Dick & Son, explains the benefits of dealing with an established and reputable showroom and why customers are comfortable that they've made the right choice when they leave the showroom.

We think the Greta range looks great...have you discovered it yet?

It really is an exciting time at John Dick & Son; last week we announced the arrival of the fabulous fama furniture from Spain and we're delighted with the reaction to the whole range, this week we're bringing you the Greta range.

We were impressed when we came across this range during the winter buying trips but seeing it in the showroom really gives us the opportunity to appreciate the design and functionality of every piece, not to mention the exceptional build quality.

This oak furniture is beautifully designed for modern-day living - bright, simple and highly functional. Coffee tables that convert to work areas with storage space below and, display cabinets with internal downlighters are just some of the many features that have caught our eye.  The dining tables are extendable meaning they can be folded down to save space when not in use, and the compartmentalised drawers in the cabinets slide effortlessly.

The simplicity of the design and absence of knobs or handles achieve a completely unclutterd look - this furniture will look good in any style of home.

Like the fama range, this furniture has to be seen to fully appreciate its beauty, simplicity and quality.  We now have a good selection of dining and occasional furniture on display in the showroom so why not pop in and take a closer look, we're sure you'll be pleased with what you discover.

For now, we've included some image to give you a feel for what to expect.

An arrival from Spain has us all excited...

At John Dick & Son we are proud of all the ranges we offer; our expertise in choosing good quality furniture is based on almost 70 years experience and four generations running our family business.  However, every now and again we find something truly special, something that excites us, even after all these years. Our latest new range is one of these special finds.

Fama, a Spanish manufacturer, create some of the most inspiring and beautiful furniture you are likely to find on sale today.  Not only is it made to the highest possible quality, it is offered in a fantastic range of colours and fabrics which are remarkably easy and fun to explore via their virtual simulator - take a look at it and enjoy testing your design skills as you mix and match the thousand's of permutations.

The number of colour combinations is equally matched by the flexibility of the furniture; sofas that can be arranged in multiple ways to ensure they fit your home to chairs that recline and move with your body, the options are endless.  And, it doesn't end with the seating; there are tables that rise and move towards you when you want to work or eat that incorporate useful and discrete storage units.

However, it's the comfort of this furniture that you really have to experience; yes, it looks great and it's extremely functional but sit on it and you immediately appreciate why we are so excited about Fama.  We always encourage our customers to try our furniture - you can even kick off your shoes and put your feet up and with this range you'll quickly find a relaxing position that suits you and the rest of the family - your biggest problem will be agreeing on the colour and layout options.

We've included some images of the furniture and a video from Fama but it only tells half the story - the proof of what we say really lies in trying this furniture for yourself.  We now have a wide selection from the Fama range in the showroom for you to try - we offer an open invitation to you to come and discover why we are so pleased to bring it to you.
