What can we say? Quite simply, beautiful!

There's not much we can say about the latest arrivals at John Dick & Son; they are simply beautiful.

A range of high quality coffee and lamp tables made in France.  These polished steel and glass tables are quite simply a work of art.  We will let the pictures tell the story here but, you should drop into the showroom if you want to see the genuine quality and appeal of these tables.

And, if you prefer more traditional materials, how about this stunning and functional cherry laptop/supper table.  This allows you to work on your laptop from your lounge chair.

Kylie's arrived in Glasgow - This week and, every week

We are delighted that Kylie Minogue is in Glasgow this week to wow her audiences with her impressive show, we wish her every success with the tour. We are particularly interested in Kylie Minogue because we have recently received our new range of Kylie Minogue bedding. Last week we brought you a post with some images from the range; this week we thought we'd show you the actual bedding on our furniture in the showroom.

The quality and design of the bedding far exceeds or expectations and, whilst we have tried to capture this, there is nothing we can do that will take the place a visit to the showroom to witness the quality for yourself.  We now have the range on display so, why not pop in and have a look, we'd love to see you.

Royal Troon Golf Club - Time lapse video

We are delighted to present this short time lapse video showing the build up of the final interior at Royal Troon Golf Club. Whilst the video shows the interior coming together very quickly, we would stress that the successful installation on the day was largely due to excellent planning over an eight month period.

We were privileged to provide the furniture on this prestigious project which was led by G1 Architects; working closely with them and the main contractor, Drumkinnon Joinery we were able to be part of the successful transformation of the Ailsa Room at Royal Troon Golf Club.

We hope you enjoyed the video, if you would like to find out more about the members of the team please visit the links below:

Green With Envy

As the seasons change and we feel a hint of spring in the air why not inject a shot of citrus into your home. You will be the talk of the street as you bring your home right up to date with this fresh colour palette which really gives that flow of bringing the colours of the outdoors indoors.

The perfect feature for any lounge, family room or garden room would be the wonderful pair of Giovanni sofas we currently have on offer in our showroom. These walnut framed sofas are upholstered in a very tactile caterpillar tone fabric from Linwood which gives a beautiful contrast against the woodwork. Finish the room with some occasional tables in walnut to achieve a classic look with a modern twist.

We are also waiting in anticipation to receive our new range from Harlequin which includes citrus & lime tones in a wonderful array of textures and patterns. The zesty tones have been mixed with some moody backgrounds to give a crisp, contemporary look. There is an exciting range of fabrics from shiny opulence to mosaic velvets which can be used for curtains, cushions and upholstery.

The new Osborne & Little Collections Athlone & Maharani could also be used to incorporate this fresh colour scheme with fabrics such as Dingle and Galway in crisp stripes and Maharani in a printed cotton if you want to include some interest with pattern.

Statement accessories are also a great way to introduce a colour accent into any room. Why not add some lamps such as the Heathfiled Mono and Lola which have a delicate glass base in Charteuse Green, the shade incorporating a floral design to give that botanical feel.

If you are tempted to inject some colour into your life why not give us a call and we will be pleased to help you achieve the look!!

We need to make some space...

If you've been reading the blog or following us on Facebook recently you'll know that we've got lots of new furniture arriving that we ordered on our recent buying trips.  The blog posts outlining the trends for 2011 have featured a selection of what you can expect.  To make room in the showroom for the exciting new pieces we need to clear some of the existing stock so we're having a special short Sale this weekend (Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th March)

We're knocking up to 60% off these selected items so, come into the showroom at the weekend and see if there's something that would suit your home ...we already know it will suit your budget!

Here's a small selection of the stock we're discounting to create the space we need (click the image for more details):

We've also been in the newspapers again, this time Amanda Keenan's Bargain Hunt section in the Sunday Mail, she spotted one of our clocks.

We love it when a plan comes together...

It seems a long time ago that we delivered the first of the new furniture for Royal Troon Golf Club on a snow covered day in January. The furniture was stored while the lounge was being refitted to G1 Architects design and last week we installed the furniture and furnishings to the lounge ahead of it opening to members on Saturday. By all accounts the new design has been extremely well received and, for the first time we recorded the build-up so that you can witness the transformation.

We will shortly be bringing you photographs, time lapse video and video interviews with some of the key people involved in the refurbishment.  Hopefully you will get a real feeling for the attention to detail and care taken by the whole team led by G1 Architects and including John Dick & Son and Drumkinnon Joinery.
